#WCW: Solange

I CAN'T STOP PLAYING A SEAT AT THE TABLE.

LIKE SERIOUSLY, I JUST CAN'T.

It's been a week since Solange released her new album A Seat At The Table (via Saint Records/Columbia), and it has literally become the soundtrack to my life.

On that Friday, while cleaning my room, I turned on my G-Boom speaker and opened up A Seat At The Table on iTunes. Just after hearing the first line of the song Rise, "Fall in your ways so you can crumble," I knew it was going to be good.

I played it all the way through, and trust me, you wouldn't want to skip any parts of it. It flows so flawlessly from track to track. I love the many interludes from Master P, Mama Tina and a few others. It is a perfect open discussion about being black, owning it and celebrating it.

It's so unapologetic. It's a diary. It's art. It's beauty. My favorites from the album are MadF.U.B.UWhere Do We Go, and of course the fan-favorite, Cranes In The Sky

Listening through, the album makes me proud and definitely inspires me to stay true to myself. I don't feel so crazy about the emotions I go through as a black woman because it's obvious that I'm not alone. It's a beautiful journey of self-discovery and learning to be okay with who you are on the inside. It teaches you to take your time and really enjoy the moments, and toacknowledge the importance of ending things and letting go. However, at the same time, it lets us know that it's okay to be mad. I know I'll be listening to this album for years to come.

SOLANGE MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A BLACK WOMAN... ALL THAT MAGIC.

Solo didn't disappoint when she dropped the visuals for Cranes In The Sky and Don't Touch My Hair either. The videos are co-directed by Knowles and hubby, Alan Ferguson, and are a collage of captivating visuals, beautiful landscapes and high style.

If you haven't check them out yet, catch them below.... and be sure to buy the album.
